| DJs: | We're back at the Fire Station on Saturday 5th February (that's next week) with Yousef, Tula, and Cliff Lay in the main room, and the Unabombers, Dave Chambers and Tosh Ohta upstairs in the Backroom Sessions. Yousef's on fire at the moment, fresh from winning Radio 1's House Rules with Circus and continuing to build his reputation as one of the world's best DJs. Stompaphunk's Tula makes a welcome return following her impressive Maison debut last September, and Cliff Lay will set the vibe with the warm-up. You thought New Year's Eve was good? You ain't seen nothin' yet!
In the Backroom Sessions we are very, very pleased to be able to welcome two special guests. The reputation of The Unabombers has grown hand in hand with the success of the club which the pair started together in 1995. Now one of Manchester's longest running club nights, the Electric Chair and the Unabombers have been accorded cult status in the city for their monthly night of madness and mayhem. Since then the Unabombers have taken their sound around the country's clubs including the Blue Note, Heavenly Social, 333, Plastic People, Hacienda, Bugged Out and Homelands. Their sets are characterised by a flow through genres: hip hop, disco, deep house & beyond; making links between quality music with a rich vein of funk! Their first mix album 'Basement Soul Music' received a rapturous response from clubbers and pundits alike, as did their second outing 'Saturday Night Sunday Morning'. And if two Mancunians aren't enough - throw Dave Chambers into the mix, with a warm-up by Tosh Ohta and we've got a melting pot of kick-ass Backroom action.
This is the first time we've ever held a Saturday night event at the Fire Station. New Year's Eve sold out way in advance. People started buying tickets to this party on the first day we were open after New Year's Eve. Don't say we didn't warn you. |
