THE RADIO 1 BEACH STAGE
The Beach is one of the most elaborate stage sets at any festival in the world and the main focus of the event. One thousand tonnes of sand is imported onto the Stratford Site and a full-scale water slide is erected turning Global Gathering into a mini-Ibiza in the UK. BBC Radio 1 will be broadcasting Pete Tong's world famous Essential Selection on the Friday to the nation from the beach and will again be broadcasting live from the beach on the Saturday. The VIP area will also be situated just behind the beach so you are guaranteed exposure to industry movers and shakers, VIPS as well as a large section of the festival- goers.

The Global Main arena boasts a Function 1 sound system second to none. This means the bass is going to shake the earth and the sheer quality of the sonar experience will send your soul soaring. The mightiest DJ deities will deliver their sets from the raised decks that resemble more a holy altar than anything else. This is where Kosheen and Mylo will play live. On Saturday afternoon, Radio One will once again take up its prestigious residency on the beach stage. Judge Jules will bring his vintage collection of classic festival anthems along with the biggest crossover dance acts from the last 12 months. Ministry of Sound's Erick Prydz will perform alongside Shapeshifters and Junior Jack and Kid Crème. Never mind suncream factors, Radio 1 will be oozing the feel good factor!
