We have decided to move from Departure because of the problems with the venue closing at 10am. This is a real shame because we have been treated so well down there by the management and security.
We have decided to move to Turnmills because:
The location, it is pretty much right in the middle of all the the major clubs north of the water and it will be much easier to get to. We are able to have 2 rooms once again and can divide the vocal and underground music so we can get back to the old days of The Key. The doors will be open around 05:00 so we can get everyone in earlier and have more official after parties. If the venue is staying full later we can stay open longer.
We have 2 new residents Sophie Oliver, Loco Mosquito who will be joining up with Claude Lyons/Tom Charles and Richie La Rue/Si Barber to recreate the underground room we had at The Key.
Just a note about the Venue. I went in on Friday and the rooms will work like this. The main bar in T1 has been changed recently and the bar has been removed from the middle and is now just on the outside edge. There has been a new stage put in the place where the old bar was. The dj booth will be situation in a balcony above the bar and it will look down over the whole dance floor. This room is perfect for the vocal sound with high ceilings, stage and elevated dj booth. I think you will have to come and see it to understand what I'm talking about. We will also be using T2 for the underground room which can get much dirtier and darker.
